Ideal design, size, and acoustic performance for pediatric use.

The 3M™ Littmann® Classic II Pediatric Stethoscope is based on the proven design of Littmann Classic stethoscopes. It’s a dependable, hard-working clinical tool for physical assessment, monitoring, and diagnosis of smaller patients. The 3M™ Littmann® Classic II Pediatric Stethoscope is specially designed for use on smaller patients. It delivers high acoustic sensitivity, through its dual-sided chest piece, for both high and low-frequency sounds. It is used by medical professionals and students alike to identify, listen to, and study heart, lung, and other body sounds for physical assessment and diagnosis in pediatric patients.

Features

  • Dual-sided chest piece with a small 3.3cm diaphragm is ideal for pediatric patients.
  • The versatile chest piece design provides high acoustic sensitivity with both a floating diaphragm and open bell.
  • Non-chill rim and diaphragm provide patient comfort.
  • Soft-sealing ear tips provide an excellent acoustic seal and a comfortable fit.
  • The headset is easily adjusted for individual fit and comfort. Angled ear tubes align with ear canals.

Commonly Asked Questions

Question: Will either the pediatric or infant stethoscope offers the same sound quality and intensity as the Cardiology IV when using the small side?

Answer: The diameter of the pediatric diaphragm is the same as that of the pediatric stethoscope. The tunable diaphragm, along with the design of the small side of the Littmann Cardiology III chest piece, offers better sound, especially in the low-frequency end of the spectrum. The sound intensity of the Littmann Cardiology IV stethoscope is greater than that found in the infant stethoscope. The need for good surface contact at the auscultation site would be the reason a practitioner would use a smaller stethoscope. The Littmann Cardiology IV offers greater versatility than either the Littmann Infant or Pediatric stethoscope.

Question: Can I use the infant stethoscope on neonates?

Answer: Most neonatal specialists report that the diameter of the bell and diaphragm on this model is still too large to get good surface contact. If the infant is larger, the Littmann Classic II Infant model would be appropriate.
